Last week I introduced the new Perfectly Posh 2019 Core catalog and I mentioned the focus of it is very different from past themes. We are diving deeper into skin types and which products best benefit specific skin scenarios. Basically, we are getting into very personalized pampering! We are calling this Pampered Readings.

No worries, this isn’t predicting the future or reading Tarot cards or anything like that.
Pampered Readings are an improved and simplified way for Posh consultants to help customers find the correct skin care items for their needs.

How does it work? You will be presented with cards (or pictures of the cards if you are online). Pick 2 cards that you feel best describe your skin care needs.
We now have a baseline of products to help guide us as we create the perfect skincare regime specifically for YOU! How cool is that? A personalized skincare consultation for free!

2019 Perfectly Posh Core Catalog Released

Perfectly Posh just launched their new 2019 Core Catalog. The Core Catalog is the foundation of our brand. It contains basic skincare essentials for everyday use and best sellers that have a sort of cult following by our customers (The Stripper!). These are the products that will stick around all year long. This catalog was highly anticipated as we said good-bye to some older items and saw sneak peeks of new ones to come.
The focus of the new catalog is very different from past themes. We are diving deeper into skin types and which products best benefit specific skin scenarios. Basically, we are getting into very personalized pampering! This includes an exclusive men’s line that was very much in demand!
I will dive deeper into this personalized pampering, or Pampered Readings, in the next post.

I am also very excited to share that we have expanded the line of our Shea Sisterhood products to include a GIANT Healer Skin Stick. Plus, more items are now being made with Shea butter from the Shea Sisterhood.
An additional $3 from the purchase of each Giant Healer is donated directly to our community in Ghana; Gizaa Gunda. Don’t forget, $1 from each purchase of Always Ghana Love You Bath Bar is also donated to Gizaa Gunda, where we are building and helping support the businesses of over 600 women and their families each year!
We are excited to announce we have also funded a warehouse through the You Deserve It Foundation. This is a much needed resource to that area!

  1. Right Back At Ya Cleansing Clay Face Wash and Mask. This product is unique  because it is a 2-in-1 wash and a mask! It is ideal to help reset and balance both overly oily or overly dry skin! I love it because it is gentle (and effective) enough for every one in my house (yes, my 9 year old daughter uses it too!). Talk about convenient!

  2. Mad For Magnesium is my current obsession. This goes way beyond love. Relax, calm, and soothe. Need I say more?

  3. So Soapy Bath Bar is like no other soap I have ever used. The indulgent scent alone is beyond heavenly. Add the incredibly rich lather and you will experience the most luxurious shower (or bath) ever. Seriously.

  4. I have been in love with Twilight Zoned since summer when it came out as a body creme. The cool melon scent is now in a hand creme and I am beyond thrilled! I bet you will go just as crazy for this as I have!

  5. Rubby Scrubby is technically not new. It is an oldie, but a goodie  that has come back! It is convenient and easy to use and keeps feet looking fresh all year long!

  6. I love Posh’s sugar lip scrubs (as do my VIPs!). Make Out Magic (another oldie but goodie that has returned) works to smooth and soothe dry lips and tastes so yummy! You know when you are making cookies and you add the sugar to the butter? Yeah. That. Mmmmmm.

Let Them Take Baths!

In honor of National Bath Week I want to share a few simple tips on how to take your bath to the next level!

*Disclaimer:
You do not need a beautiful big tub to get the relaxing benefits of a bath. I have a very normal-sized tub (AKA way too small & I barely fit in it), but I still enjoy frequent baths as part of my quiet me-time (AKA those times I pretend my children aren’t barging in with my husband wrangling them away so I have a few moments to just breathe).

FIRST UP, AMBIANCE!
Low lights, candles, music … Or maybe you prefer complete silence. Either way, it sounds peaceful and spa-like right?

And do not forget a drink! Whether it is a simple glass of water or something a little more fun (champagne maybe?) Having something to sip helps make bath time a bit more fun and is actually practical!

Warm baths can make you parched and hot baths can dehydrate you (and your skin! Best to keep it warm). Sipping water will help counter that. Add some flare to your water by adding berries, mint, or sliced cucumbers!
Want something fancier? Red wine is a great option because the humidity from your bath helps the flavor profile open up!

DON’T FORGET THE BUBBLES! 
I love adding bubbles to my bath! Unfortunately many brands are loaded with chemicals, sulfates, and other not-so natural ingredients that can dry and irritate skin.
You want to use a sulfate-free option like Perfectly Posh’s Bubble Up™!

A bath is the perfect time to pamper from head to toe! Use a fabulous body scrub, such as Beach Blanket, or polish, like You Apricaught Me, to help slosh of dead, dry skin and will leave your skin soft and glowing!

Don’t forget a moisturizing face mask! Steam from the bath opens pores which will allow your mask to work better and deeper! Avoid masks that are more intense and require less time (like Cackle Spackle) and avoid sheet masks (including Cheat Sheets) since they tend to slip off from the humidity. There is a time and a place for these awesome masks, but the bath isn’t one of them!

4 Self-Care Resolutions You Can Keep!

I am absolutely brilliant at making fabulous and impressive life-improving New Year’s resolutions.  I am also absolutely brilliant at failing to do them beyond 1-2 weeks. That’s right, I don’t even make it until February 1.

I like to blame my busy life; hubby, 3 animals, 5 kids (2 of whom are home-schooled), therapy sessions for the kiddo with autism, school events, after school activities/sports, church, Bible study, housework … The list goes on.
However, if I am honest with myself I have never been great at committing to huge changes in habit, because that is essentially what a New Year’s resolution is; changing habits in a big way.

I am here to offer 4 simple changes that you can easily implement. If you are anything like me then I highly recommend tackling 1 at a time and making it a goal to achieve all 5 by the end of the year. This is far less discouraging than tackling all 5 at once and failing because you are overwhelmed.

1) Be Intentionally Kind to Someone
This sounds obvious, but it is so easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life. Everyday make a conscious effort to smile at someone, hold the door, buy someone a coffee, ask your co-worker how things are and actually listen to their answer without rushing off, or whatever else you can think of! This will boost you day and the recipients day!

2) Take a Long Walk Once a Week Outside
30-60-minutes outside will clear your mind and help get some exercise in! It is very refreshing! You don’t have to get fancy. I just stroll along my neighborhood. This is also a great way to meet neighbors.

3) Once a Day Turn Your Phone, Tablet, Computer Off For an Hour
Spend time without texts, emails, and social media to distract you. You will feel refreshed and you will be amazed what you can accomplish in that hour. For example, reading that book you have been meaning to for the last 2 years!

*Personal note: When I started to consciously turn my phone off in the evening, I found myself more calm and less unreasonably angry and snappy.

4) Create Morning & Nighttime Routines
This life change will be the biggest effort, but it is doable and worth it.

Take a moment and think about what you can do every morning to start your day off positive.
For me, I get up and shower while the kids are all still sleeping. Being able to get ready in the quiet and peace helps me to wake up slowly and not feel rushed. This is important to me. Does this mean I have to get up 30 minutes sooner? Yes, but it is well worth it if it means I am less crabby.
Other ways to start you day off right: meditate, yoga, read, do a devotional, sip your coffee in the quiet …

Now I want you to think about how you can make bedtime more restful for you. I suffer from massive insomnia. I have found that having a nighttime routine helps decrease my time tossing and turning. I am also more likely to sleep longer stretches before waking up.
A routine also helps my children develop healthy habits. The goal is for all of us to be less stressed and better rested.

Need some ideas? How about dimming the lights, turning off the tv, drinking a cup of herbal tea. Maybe you are into aromatherapy . There are plenty of scents meant to calm and promote relaxation. Meditation is another great option. Really there is no wrong answer. Just find a routine that benefits YOU and stick with it!
